Karaage Chicken

Karaage is Japan's answer to fried chicken, and once you try our version, you'll understand why it has devotees worldwide. We marinate bite-sized pieces of chicken thigh in a mixture of soy sauce, sake, fresh ginger, and garlic for hours, allowing the flavors to penetrate deep into the meat.

The secret to our exceptionally crispy coating is a light dusting of potato starch rather than flour. This creates an impossibly crunchy, almost shatteringly crisp exterior that stays crispy far longer than traditional fried chicken. Each piece is double-fried for maximum crunch.

Served with a wedge of lemon and our house Kewpie mayo, these golden nuggets of joy are perfect for sharing (though you might not want to). The juicy, flavorful meat and crispy coating make this our most addictive appetizer.
